The Flat Iron Building








The Flat Iron building was built in 1902. Daniel Burnham and John Wellborn Root created it. The building stands 258 feet high and 87 meters high. The Flat iron building has 22 floors. The building was made out of steel skeleton and scaffolding. The building is very interesting because of the angle that it’s shaped in. I wouldn’t change anything about it because it looks fine the way it is.

United Nations Headquaters




The United Nations headquarters was started in 1947 and it was finished 1955. Wallace K. Harrison and 11 built other smaller architects the building. The building has 39 floors. The eastern west wall is made out of glass and the north south was made out of marble and aluminum exterior. I you really look at it, you may think its a big mirror.

The Metropolitan Life Insurance Building




The Metropolitan life insurance company tower was first started being constructed in 1893 and was completed in1909. The building was created by napleon Lebrun and sons. The Metroploitan life insurance building stands 700 feet high and 213 meters high. The building has 52 floors. The building was inspirde by " The campanile in venice, Italy in 1907. The building was made with tuckahoe marble but during its renovation they used plain lime stone. I liked the building becuse it was pretty and the clock caught my attention. I love watching the tower at night becuse of the colorful lights it has.

AT&T has been replaced




The AT&T building located on Madison Avenue between 55th and 56th streets is now the Sony building. It was designed by architect Philip Johnson and his partner John Burgee, and was constructed in 1984. The AT&T building is 647 feet high and 197 meters high. The AT&T building has 37 floors. The building is covered in grayish-pink granite to protect the building. The building was sold to Sony in 1992, AT&T then moved its head offices to the Long Distance Building at 32 6th Avenue.

" My Architect"

Architects are people who design buildings to better the environment. Architects must love and have a desire to draw. Architects create blueprints to accomplish their buildings to be built. The actual people who build skyscrapers in construction workers. Architects must have a license to build a building. They must go to school and take classes to better there drawing skills. Louis Kahn was a well-known architect. He died in the Pennsylvania station. Louis Kahn built a building and right across the street, there was a museum that was opened to honor Louis Kahn and his famous buildings.

The Chrysler Building



The chrysler building was designed by William Van Allen. It was built on Septmber 19, 1928. The building was renovated from 1978-1979. The Chysler building Stands 1,047 feet high and 319 meterhigh. The building was made out of steel Krupp. The Chrysler building has repeated triangles on the top and the ornament looks like a needle. The building is really pretty. it really catches a persons eye. I like the building because its a "Baby Empire State Building" I would change the color of the building to make it more interesting like adding some blue or green on the steel.

Why Im in Summer School?

Well, first of all this is not summer school. This is a credit recovery program. Im here because i failed 2 classes and i need seat time in order to graduate in august. You need 90% attendance and i have below 75% attendance. I failed Tracee for U.S History and Avi for English Literature. Thats really why im here. Im actually glad to be here then actually being in a class doing work.I enjoy walking around with my class looking at the skyscrappers.
