AT&T has been replaced




The AT&T building located on Madison Avenue between 55th and 56th streets is now the Sony building. It was designed by architect Philip Johnson and his partner John Burgee, and was constructed in 1984. The AT&T building is 647 feet high and 197 meters high. The AT&T building has 37 floors. The building is covered in grayish-pink granite to protect the building. The building was sold to Sony in 1992, AT&T then moved its head offices to the Long Distance Building at 32 6th Avenue.
